夏侯姓

夏侯姓源于夏禹。武王克殷，创建周朝，周武王将夏禹后人封至杞国（今河南杞县）。春秋诸侯争霸，杞国为楚国所灭，杞简公之弟公子佗逃到鲁国，鲁悼公因其为夏禹之后人，尊之为侯爵，也被称为夏侯佗，其后代遂取氏族和官职为复姓，称夏侯。夏侯一系之后裔也有将复姓改为单姓，成为夏姓者或侯姓者。
