郡尉

郡尉为中国秦朝官制名称，为郡之武官，辅助主官郡守，职责为掌管武装甲卒，其官爵约略于四级不更至七级公大夫之间。另外，郡尉辖下亦有数名有丞作为属官。

西汉凡人口达二十万的郡，便举用一人为郡尉，禁备盗贼。景帝时，改称郡尉为都尉。
