一个词语在不同的个体与群组有着不同的发音方式，取决于很多因素，譬如他们发展的时间、词语发展地、用户的成长地、用户的现居地、社会阶层和教育水平等。
语音学的发音
语音学是语言学中专门研究语音的分支。广义上语音的产生称为发音，包括气流机制、发声和调音三个独立过程，大体上先后分别由发音器官的三个部分来实行。不过这“先后”指的是气流过程的先后，而不是动作本身的顺序。[1]:14
