冷冻吨

冷冻吨（refrigeration ton，RT 或 ton of refrigeration，TR）是一些国家用来描述冷冻及空调能力的功率单位。

1 冷冻吨[1]定义为：在24小时内，使 1短吨（2,000磅，907公斤）纯冰在摄氏0度（华氏32度）下，凝固或熔化的热传速率[2][3]。一冷冻吨等于一天消耗一短吨的冰，用其熔化热来冷却的功率。

美国的空调或冷冻设备常用吨标示其冷冻能力，此处的“吨”即为“冷冻吨”。1 冷冻吨[1]约等于 12,000 BTU/h = 3,024千卡/h = 3.517kW；若是较小型的空调或冷冻设备，也可能会改用BTU/h来标示。

其他的冷冻吨

上述的冷冻吨是以短吨来计算，若以公吨计算，则称为冷冻吨，约等于 3,320 kcal/h，相当于 1.1冷冻吨[4]。

在台湾称「日本冷冻吨」是 10,000 BTU/h（2,500千卡/h），但其实日本使用的也是冷冻吨[5]。在台湾家电业常用的所谓「冷冻吨」则是 8,000 BTU/h（2,000千卡/h）[6][7]。
