3月12日，所属经纪公司宣布防弹少年团将于4月12日携新专辑《Map of the Soul: Persona》回归乐坛。届时将在4月13日通过美国电视节目《Saturday Night Live》带来新曲回归初舞台。[3]

3月28日，官方频道公开了最新专辑《Map of the Soul: Persona》的专辑回归预告〈Persona〉，由队长RM以个人RAP演出的形式为新专辑回归揭开序幕。[4]〈Persona〉首日赞好达到256万，成为韩国个人歌手中最高纪录，并于4月3日登上美国告示牌榜单「YouTube Songs Music Chart」的第17名，成为史上第一支上榜的韩团回归预告片。[5]4月8日，官方Youtube频道发布了专辑《Map of the Soul: Persona》主打歌〈Boy With Luv〉的音乐录像带预告，在公开后10小时便吸引超过800万人次观看，歌曲将与美国歌手Halsey首次合作。[6]截至4月11日，新专辑预售量已达到302万1822张。[7]
