油砂

油砂（英语：，亦称焦油砂）是一种非常规石油资源，通常是由砂岩、沥青、黏土和水组成的混合物[1]，为胶状黑色物质。约两吨的油砂才能提炼出一桶原油，油砂含油量约占本身两成左右。焦油砂占据了世界石油储量的66%，主要分布在加拿大。

各地开采与使用

目前加拿大的估计可采量达3150亿桶以上，仅次于沙特阿拉伯之原油蕴藏量。目前加拿大每天能开采约100万桶原油，未来计划提升至每天200万桶原油的数量。

台湾中油公司于2008年和加拿大当地的印地安油砂公司合作，双方签署8亿加元投资的备忘录将合作开采油砂。[2]

2013年，美国拟为拱心石输油管道扩建专门运输油砂的管线[3][4]，称之为「XL工程」；正当参议院拟投票为工程开绿灯之时[5][6]，因其对环境影响极大而遭油管沿线地区民众严重抗议，在不到24小时内集合了60万份请愿书[7]。最终，时任总统奥巴马在咨询过当地农民及原住民部落的意见后，否决了油砂管线工程。[8][9]
