叻报

《叻报》是战前新加坡第一个出版的中文报纸。首次出版于1881年12月，到1932年3月发行停止，《叻报》流通有52年，因此是第二次世界大战之前新加坡最长存在的华人报纸。[1][2][3]

起初，《叻报》使用文言文；1925年之后，所有文章转换到白话文。

《叻报》名称来自新加坡的别称「叻端口」或「石叻」，为马来语selat（「海峡」）之音译。
