丹尼尔·维吉尔·麦森纽夫于1999年10月22日出生于纽约州奈阿克，他的家庭是一个拥有台裔、法裔加拿大血统的家庭。后来他的家人从奈阿克搬至新泽西州里奇伍德的一个郊区中长大，16岁开始了他的音乐生涯。[3] 6岁他开始学习钢琴，但几年后他选择放弃弹自己的钢琴是因为他心理上的问题。2016年秋季，麦森纽夫决心辍学追随自己的音乐梦想。2019年，他的单曲〈Cradles〉因网络迷因在TikTok开始爆红。[4]
