NGC 288

NGC 288是在玉夫座的一个球状星团。约翰·戴耶亚在1888年就描述了它的在视觉上的外观[7]。它位于星系NGC 253的东南方大约1.8°，银南极的北北东方37'，一颗9等星南南东方15'，在西南侧的恒星构成开放的半圆形[1]，使用双筒望远镜就可以看见[1]。它没有很集中，所以可以很容易分解出单独的恒星。较密集的内核大小约3'，松散且不规则的外围构成直径大约9'的环状[1]，周边的成员非常松散的向南方扩散，特别是西南方[1]。
