5月8日，所属经纪公司宣布防弹少年团将在7月15日发行日本正规四辑《Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~》，包括主打曲〈Stay Gold〉以及成员Jung Kook参与作曲的〈Your eyes tell〉两首新歌，〈Your eyes tell〉为日本电影〈想见你的爱〉量身打造的主题曲，亦同时收录日文版〈ON〉以及〈Black Swan〉等共13首歌曲。[2]

商业成绩

6月20日，《Map of the Soul: 7 ~ The Journey ~》 先行曲〈Stay Gold〉发行后取得iTunes单曲榜82个国家及地区一位，刷新了自身日语作品的最佳纪录。[3]6月27日，先行曲〈Stay Gold〉音乐录像带首日最高观看次数达到2779万，成为韩国艺人中日语作品首日最高观看次数的音乐录像带。[4]

7月16日，《Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~》首日销量突破44万7869张，成为Oricon2020年专辑榜首日销量最高的专辑。[5]同日，收录曲〈Your eyes tell〉获得全球共93个国家及地区iTunes单曲榜一位，成为史上在iTunes中获得最多冠军的日语歌曲。[6]
