Internet Explorer 8

Windows Internet Explorer 8（简称IE8）是微软所开发的一个网页浏览器。这个软件于2009年3月19日首次发行适用于Windows的版本，虽然它的后续版本IE9已推出，但由于不支持Windows XP，所以IE8在初期还是十分普及。IE8内置于Windows 7以及Windows Server 2008 R2中，作为缺省的网页浏览器[2]，同时也发行了Windows XP SP2和Windows Vista的版本供用户下载。

IE8是首款通过Acid2测试也是最后一个通过该测试的主要的网页浏览器。虽然它在Acid3测试中仅获得24/100的分数，但据微软所说，安全性、易用性和对RSS、CSS及Ajax的改善与支持是IE8的优势[3][4]。IE8是最后一款支持Windows XP的版本的IE。

用户接口上，IE7和IE8十分相似，因为IE8的改进主要在于引擎和技术方面。

微软方面，在2011年3月14日推出Internet Explorer 9。在2012年7月时，Internet Explorer 8使用率为13.78%左右[5]。另外据2012年6月的统计，IE9刚刚超过IE8，成为最多人使用的IE版本[6]。
