历史与功能

GNOME 机柜于2011年12月随GNOME 3.3（3.4的开发分支）以测试版软件发布[2]，并随着GNOME 3.4以预览版发布[3]，最初用来浏览远程文档系统浏览及运行虚拟主机。[4] 起初是以libvirt、libvirt-glib 和 libosinfo 等程序库写成，使此工具可用来浏览远程系统（类似VNC），及远、近端之虚拟电脑。GNOME 机柜可处理像ISO档的光盘映像档。

开发人员

GNOME 机柜原来由Marc-André Lureau、Zeeshan Ali、Alexander Larsson 和Christophe Fergeau[5]开发。目前由Zeeshan Ali 继续开发并维护。
