Bebo是“Blog Early, Blog Often”的缩写[1]，用户可以在个人数据页发布博客、照片、音乐 ，视频和问卷调查。此外，用户可添加朋友，并向他们发送消息，并更新他们的个人文件，通知对自己的朋友。Bebo非常类似于其他社交网站，主要是Facebook[2]。

2005年1月Michael Birch与其夫人Xochi Birch在其住所于旧金山创立Bebo。

2007年7月Bebo访客数量首次超过Myspace，成为英国最受欢迎的社交网站。2008年3月美国时代华纳子公司AOL宣布以8.5亿收购Bebo[3][4]。2010年4月又计划出售或关闭此网站[5]。

2013年7月，Michael Birch与其夫人Xochi Birch以100万美元向AOL回购Bebo
