瓦斯康塞洛斯在雅典奥运会羽毛球男单比赛中，32强输给了英国的理查德·范恩。在北京奥运会羽毛球男单比赛首轮即遭淘汰，以16-21, 14-21输给了印度的阿努普·斯里达尔。
