特征
本鱼体延长，前端稍平扁，向后渐渐侧扁。头短，且宽而平扁，似四角形，前端圆钝。背鳍单一，呼吸瓣不发达。鳞片排列不整齐。鳃盖后缘平滑不呈流苏状。体呈青灰色，上半部密布褐色小点。背鳍软条13至14枚；臀鳍软条16至18枚。体长可达30公分。
经济利用
味劣，不具食用价值，可作为观赏鱼。
