红燕鸥

红燕鸥（Sterna dougallii）是燕鸥科的一种海鸟，也名粉红燕鸥。这种鸟有很多不同分布地区的族群，不同之处主要为喙的颜色及幼鸟的羽毛颜色。

红燕鸥在北美洲及欧洲的大西洋海岸繁殖，并南下加勒比地区及西非越冬。

该物种的模式产地在苏格兰。[2]

保护状况

在英国，红燕鸥是生物多样性行动计划所指定的受保护动物。这物种的生存受威胁的其中之一主要原因是全球变暖影响其食物来源——鱼。红燕鸥是非欧亚迁移性水鸟协定（African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbird Agreement，AEWA）所包括的鸟类之一。
