Glöer (2002)[2]将两个在欧洲发现的化石种移到豆螺属的一个亚属，但沼螺属一般只接收来自亚洲的物种。

- 纹沼螺 Parafossarulus striatulus (Benson, 1842)[6]被认为是沼螺 Parafossarulus manchouricus (Bourguignat, 1860)的异名（原来组合为：Paludina striatula Benson, 1842[1]，但被认为是Paludina striatula Deshayes, 1824的junior homonym
