欧石鸻
欧亚石鸻（学名：）是石鸻科各物种当中分布于最北方的一种。《中国鸟类名录10.0版》将欧石鸻中文名恢复为石鸻。[2]

欧亚石鸻在石鸻科类算是偏中型的水鸟，长度约38至46公分，翼展约76至88公分，重量约290至535克。[3][4]其有一个黄黑色的鸟喙，大的黄色眼睛（像是爬行动物或戴上护目镜的），和黑白混合的羽毛。
尽管被归类成水鸟，但是它更喜欢栖息在干燥的开放地面。欧亚石鸻大部分时间为夜行性动物，但是因为它的叫声，常被误以为是杓鹬。它的食物包括昆虫和其他小的无脊椎动物，偶尔会吃小爬虫，青蛙和老鼠。它生下的蛋数量为2至3颗。
名字来源
欧亚石鸻的属学名Burhinus来自希腊文bous（即公牛）和rhis（即鼻子）[5]，种小名Oedicnemus来自oidio（即隆起的）和kneme（即腿），也就是欧亚石鸻的在胫关节的突起。因此，欧美人给了欧亚石鸻一个俗名：Thick knee （Thick是厚，knee是膝盖），这个名字被Thomas Pennant于1776率先使用。[5]现在使用的名字Stone Curlew是被Francis Willughby于1667年率先采用。[6][7]
