植物相
名称
植物相的原字，源自于罗马神话里的女花神佛洛拉（Flora），在此指一特定地区的所有植物的统称[1]。
按1913年韦氏字典的解释：「flora 在植物学上有两意思： 1. 某一地区（或地域，或时期）里自然生成的所有植物种类群所形成的一个完整系统，称为植物相。 2. 这样的植物种类群的完整名单或描述，或是其专题论文，称为植物志。」[1]
范围
通常植物志之编写乃取一特定区域，例如中国植物志，甚或地带，如热带植物志，对此特定区域内的所有植物(主要是维管束植物)予以形态的描述及分类的处理详细记录。因此植物志是某一地区在某一时间里，完整记录此区域里所有的植物种类，除具有「详实的描述外，更有检索表提供物种与物种间的比对，所以一个地区的植物志相当不容易完成[2]」，需要长期的分类学研究，而研究的材料来源，除了现地采集，便常常需得利用收藏在当地的标本馆，或其他标本馆里的材料。

- 《伦敦植物志》 (Flora Londinensis)：威廉·柯蒂斯，英国 1777年- 1798年，收录伦敦地区植物。
- 《希腊植物志》 (Flora Graeca)：John Sibthorp. 英国 1806年 - 1840年，收录及处理希腊的植物。
- 《丹麦植物志》 (Flora Danica)：Simon Paulli. 丹麦, 1847年，收录丹麦的植物。
- 《耶拿植物志》(Flora Jenensis)：Heinrich Bernhard Rupp 德国，1718年，收录耶拿地区的植物。
- 《瑞典植物志》(Flora Suecica)：卡尔·林奈，1745年，收录瑞典的植物。
- 《塞尔维亚公国植物志》(Flora Kneževine Srbije)：约瑟夫·潘契奇，1874年，收录塞尔维亚公国的植物。
