森林兔（学名：），又称南美森林兔 ，是一种分布在中南美洲的一种棉尾兔，其模式标本采于巴西的伯南布哥。[2]属兔科林兔属。

此种独居、夜行性。常见于日落后或黎明前。以草和嫩叶为食。居于邻近沼泽或沿河的、多树的地方，以及花园和种植园中。[3]
此种是其多数分布范围中唯一的兔科动物。[3]
