德克萨斯城灾难
德克萨斯城灾难（Texas City disaster）是1947年4月16日发生于美国加尔维斯顿湾、德克萨斯城港口的一起工业事故。它是美国历史上伤亡最惨重的工业事故，也是人类历史上最大的非核爆炸。当时停泊在德克萨斯城港口的一艘法籍船只“SS Grandcamp”号上载有2,000公吨（2,000长吨；2,200短吨）的硝酸铵，当地时间早上八点左右有人看到船上冒烟，并开始灭火，但火情无法控制。早上9点12分船只上的硝酸铵爆炸，并引燃了附近的油库。这场爆炸导致超过五千人受伤，至少581人丧生，德克萨斯城的消防人员只有一人幸存，这也使得此事件成为美国最多消防员殉职的灾难之一[1]。
