寻彗镜

寻彗镜是一种特别适合搜索彗星的小型望远镜：通长是短焦距和大光圈，以取得最大亮度的光。

例如，马克里天文台在1842年添加了一架4英吋 (10公分) 口径的寻彗镜，而在1948年发现了颖神星。
