始鳄目

始鳄目（学名：）又名杨氏蜥形目（Younginiformes），是已灭绝双孔类爬行动物的一目，生存在二叠纪晚期到三叠纪早期。

本目的定义范围有些困难。在早期的分类历史中，本目曾经被当作「未归类物种集中地」，包含许多生存于晚石炭纪到始新世间，但没被列入鳞龙类或主龙类的原始双孔类爬行动物。

后来在1947年，阿尔弗雷德·罗默（Alfred Romer）创建杨氏蜥形目，用来取代始鳄目，包括杨氏蜥科与少数类似的科。杨氏蜥形目生存在二叠纪到三叠纪。特点是有方颧骨与颧骨组成的完整最底下颧弓[1]。

无论是始鳄目或杨氏蜥形目，本目中固定没更动的是杨氏蜥，存活于晚二叠纪的南非，是种小型类似蜥蜴的爬虫类。杨氏蜥与其它属组成杨氏蜥科，但这些近亲有可能是杨氏蜥的异名。

坦噶蜥科（Tangasauridae）则是明显可在水中游泳的一科，也经常被包括在本目[2]。

在某些系统发生学中，始鳄目经常被列为鳞龙类之中，有鳞目与喙头蜥目的姐妹分类单元（可能有误）[3]。
